The first online meeting of the Local Community Support Group-MEDSt@rts Sfax Project-January 18, 2021

The Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a partner of the MEDSt@rts cooperation project funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med 2014-2020 program, an instrument for cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean basin.

MEDSt@rts is a project aimed at facilitating access to finance for young entrepreneurs. The main objective of the MEDSt@rts project is to promote access to credit for project leaders and support the creation of new economic and professional opportunities capable of contributing to social inclusion and fighting against the unemployment of economically fragile people (young people, women, disabled and unemployed).

In this regard, the CCIS has created a unit called "Local Community Support Group" GCL with the objective of facilitating the analysis of local demand, the exchange of knowledge and the improvement of skills in the field of microfinance through the organization of four online meetings on several themes that concern the different sectors of activity of the MEDSt@rts project: agro-food, digitalization, crafts, eco-design, tourism, cultural heritage and personal service.

These meetings represent an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences between the different key actors of the society such as local authorities, associations, companies, etc. and the shortlisted candidates of the MEDSt@rts project.

The first meeting took place on Monday 18.01.2021 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm: Agri-Food Sector and the other meetings will be organized soon.

This meeting was an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices in the agro-food sector, various subjects were also discussed such as: certifications, marketing strategies, new trends in the market, etc.

Recommendations were also given to young entrepreneurs or young companies wishing to establish themselves in the market.
