The Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a public establishment of economic interest, endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy and placed under the supervision of the Ministry of commerce.

It is governed by Law No. 2006-75 of November 30, 2006, relating to Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The organization of the CCIS consists of two structures: the Committee (elected members) and administrative staff.

The committee is made up of 30 members elected by companies in the Sfax region for a period of 5 years.

Coming from the committee, the bureau composed of 10 members (a President, 5 Vice-Presidents, a Secretary General, a Deputy Secretary General, a Treasurer and a Deputy Treasurer) draws up the projects proposed by the committees, ensures the execution of the decisions taken by the committee and assist the Chairman in his missions.

The administrative staff of the CCIS is governed by a statute approved by decree, following standard internal regulations approved by decree of the Minister responsible for trade.

 

The administrative organization of the CCIS services is defined by an organization chart. The management of Chamber services is ensured by a General Manager under the supervision of the President of the Chamber.

The missions of the ccis

Contributing to the promotion of the private sector and stimulating initiative and investment in the region.

Providing public authorities with all proposals, opinions and information.

Contributing to the strengthening of cooperation and partnership with foreign countries.

Providing training and economic information.

Providing business-related services, namely:

Organize or contribute to the organization of fairs, trade shows and days, seminars, meetings, congresses, seminars and webinars.

Delivering certificates requested by manufacturers, merchants, craftsmen or the service provider for use at national or international level.

Communicating economic and business information to enterprises concerning the region.

Undertake any conciliation, accord or arbitration initiative at the regional, national or international level.

Providing enterprises with service provisions to facilitate trade relations in Tunisia and abroad.

Concluding cooperation and partnership agreements with national supporting and supervising organizations.

Supervising and assisting companies in the development of their exports.

• Conducting studies of an economic nature.

Manage, if necessary, in her district a public service within the framework of operating contracts.

Maintain the directory of natural and legal persons registered in the trade register within his territorial district.
